People living in a contaminated street in Napier are anxiously waiting to find out exactly how dangerous it is.
All properties on McLeod Street in Awatoto are being tested for various pollutants after Cyclone Gabrielle ripped apart an industrial zone just a few kilometres away where high levels of ammonia and biological waste have been found.
The cleanup there is being done by workers in full protective gear.
