A hui in Wellington of iwi representatives has established unity among Maori over water rights; Pita Sharples says the meeting agreed to set up a structure so Maori can properly discuss among themselves their rights and interests in water; The Ministry for Primary Industries is trialling a special fund, to help run small to medium scale innovation projects on Maori owned farms; The Corrections Department is delighted with the community support in Hawke's Bay, for its first rehabilitation and re-integration unit for Maori prisoners.
