1.20 Habibi Funk Records
Habibi Funk Records is a reissue record label based in Berlin, Germany dedicated to releasing music from the Arab world.
The music the label releases is fantastic - Egypt Funk, disco and synth-pop from Lybia, rare music from the 70s and 80s from Lebanon, Sudan, Algerian.
The label was co-founded by Jannis Stürtz, who also works as a DJ using the name Habibi Funk who is coming to Aotearoa for some DJ shows. More information here

2.00 LIVE: Tami Neilson & The APO
Following the release of her acclaimed album “Kingmaker” - which her winning song features on - Tami Neilson, played a series of sold out concerts across Aotearoa last July.
She was joined on stage in Tamaki, Auckland by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra for a special live performance at the Kiri Te Kanawa theatre.

This week is Otautahi based country / folk musician Tess Liautaud ( LEO-TOW) Tess is an american who grew up an American in France - But has now become a beloved part of the Otautahi musical community, playing in bands such as Adam Hattaway & The Haunters, The Eastern, The Sweet Sweet Nothings, as well as writing and releasing her own music.
Tess introduces us her new single ‘On the cusp’
Tess is playing at the Space Academy Ōtautahi on Friday 9th June.

Our guest on the Mixtape this week is Faiumu Matthew Salepu, aka Anonymouz
The multi-talented musician, grew up in South Auckland playing classical piano, worked for many years at the Otara Music & Arts Centre.
He was one of the founders of the Pacific Music awards, has worked with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and in 2021 was asked to created a soundscape for the official Dawn Raid Apology Ceremony.
He is currently working with Black Grace Dance Company on their new work ‘Paradise Rumour’
