RNZ Music is proud to be the first to share Mel Parsons' brand new song, 'Just 'Cause You Don't Want Me'.
'Just 'Cause You Don't Want Me' is the third single from Mel's upcoming album Glass Heart, which is due out on November 30.
It's a break-up song that Mel wrote during a 'punishing' two-month solo tour in the U.S.
“The song itself is pretty basic in terms of content,” she says. “I think the title and the chorus give a pretty fair summary of what it's about. It came together fairly quickly, which is usually a good sign for me. I think one of my favourite things about this song is the backing vocals.”
Mel has already released two other songs from Glass Heart: ‘I Got The Lonely’ and ‘Blame’, an album that 'reveals a darker, fuller sound' from the West Coast-raised folk musician.
Mel will tour the new album in December.
