Al Park has been a stalwart of the Christchurch music scene for a considerable number of years. His bands, Louie and the Hotsticks; Vapour and the Trails; and The Latter Day Sinners have been successful in the Canterbury area and his "live" music venue, Al's Bar was the premier music venue in Christchurch until the earthquakes took it down.
An album produced by Delaney Davidson has just been released called Better Already - The Songs of Al Park, featuring a number of friends including Delaney, Jordan Luck, Marlon Williams, Barry Saunders, Adam McGrath from the Eastern, Anthea Struthers, Helen Mulholland and more.
As Adam McGrath so succinctly puts it, the album is a very loud and appreciative tip o' the cap to someone who has had a shoulder to many wheels a Thank You note to one of The Garden City's most well-known albeit unknown musical father figures Al Park!
