Twenty years ago, Nasir Jones - the Queensbridge New York rapper known simply as Nas - released Illmatic, his debut album, produced by a who's-who of early 90s East Coast hip hop, including Q-Tip, Large Professor, Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Sam Wicks had a chance to see Nas perform Illmatic live a couple of years back. He talks with DJ Premier about that show, and Premier's hand in the construction of a hip hop classic.
