9:15 Whakataukī of the Week with Professor Tom Roa
Every Monday, here on Nights, to set the tone for the week, we like to have a guest on to share a whakataukī - a Māori proverb - that's meaningful to them.
And tonight we're hearing from Professor Tom Roa (Waikato, Ngāti Maniapoto) a man who wears many hats: academic, historian, kaumatua as well as a te reo Māori speaker, teacher, translator and champion.
He's also just worked with Dr Rodrigo Hill on an exhibition and photo book titled Ki te Kapu o Taku Ringa - In the Palm of My Hand which uses photography through a te ao Māori lens.

One of the promising frontiers in treating mental health disorders is psychedelic-assisted therapy.
Substances such as LSD, MDMA and psilocybin mushrooms have all shown promising results in the treatment of depression, anxiety and even addiction.
Dr Lisa Reynolds is a senior lecturer at the University of Auckland's school of psychological medicine and she is leading a new study on the potential benefits of microdosing LSD for those with advanced stage cancer.
She speaks to Emile Donovan about this promising area of research.

What started off as a weekend mission has turned into a full-time gig helping thousands of people across the country through his charity UOKBRO NZ.
