A few days ago, one of the country's biggest oil and gas producers had a significant gas find in Taranaki.
It was found on-shore in northern Taranaki by privately owned Greymouth Petroleum.
Greymouth supplies about 20 percent of the gas market and has the biggest gas reserves, about 35 percent of known reserves.
University of Canterbury Associate professor of engineering David Dempsey joins Emile Donovan to discuss how significant the find is.
