How to make comedy for kids - without the 'parent jokes'

A clown dressed as Napoleon. Bubbles. Live music. The moon!

If it sounds like a recipe for chaos and comedy - that's what its creators were hoping for.

Comedian Barnie Duncan and musician Alastair Deverick are relatively new dads and had worked together before. 

In an effort to work together again - while still juggling the dad thing - they created a comedic stage show for young kids called Moon, which is on this weekend at the Nelson Arts Festival.

It is, they say, something the kind of show their kids would like - without those pesky parent in-jokes.
