Less than 24 hours after the US decided it would pause military aid to Ukraine, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says his country is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible.

Mr Zelensky says last week's explosive meeting with Donald Trump was "regrettable" and Ukraine is "ready to work under President Trump's strong leadership" to negotiate a peace deal, and to sign a minerals deal.

Reuters is reporting that the deal could be announced by President Trump to Congress in his address this afternoon.
