Late Night Phil: Michael Charles Avory 81 today (born in 1944). Best known as the longtime (some say long-suffering) drummer and percussionist for the Kinks. He joined at the beginning in 1964 and stayed with them for 20 years, when he left due to "creative friction" with guitarist Dave Davies. Since leaving The Kinks, he's turned up in a few 60's tribute and revival bands, including with a couple of former bandmates in "The Kast Off Kinks".
