In July 1977, the first multi-lingual Polynesian newspaper, Mana, was published in Auckland. The groundbreaking publication shared news relevant to Maori and Pacific people advocating for social justice at a time when mainstream media largely ignored these communities. A new Auckland War Memorial Museum exhibition spotlights the groundbreaking newspaper and the voices it platformed during some of Aotearoa New Zealand's most defining years of activism.
