Social housing waiting list tops 10k

The waiting list for public housing cracked the 10,000 mark by the end of 2018. That's 73 per cent more than a year ago, and over three times the number waiting at the end of 2015. This seems unbelieveable. Ministry of Housing and Urban Development officials blame higher rents, greater awareness of public housing, and a slowdown in the rate of people exiting public housing for the increase.
