Rural maternity services

A Southland woman gave birth in an ambulance on Sunday morning. A local midwife Sarah Stokes says if the Lumsden Maternity Centre hub had oxygen, full rescucitation equipment and another midwife to support her, as it had in the past, the baby could have been delivered at the centre. Carrie Adams of the Northern Southland Medical Trust talks about what's happening to rural health services.
