A wonderful piece in The Smithsonian Magazine outlines a truly wild scheme by the CIA to use radioactive foxes against Japan in the 1940s. Rob Kelly looks at the case of 'Operation Fantasia' and other ill fated schemes using animals in espionage. It turns out the animals often have their own, less nationalistic, goals.
