Customers of One NZ across Auckland and Northland were hit by a widespread broadband internet outage.
A One NZ spokesperson said 10,000 people were affected on Wednesday morning.
Areas affected included parts of Whangārei, Magawhai Heads, Leigh, Te Arai, and throughout Auckland, including the North Shore, Onehunga, Avondale, and Birkenhead.
Broadband were restored before 9am.
One NZ would be carrying out a full investigation, the spokesperson said.
"We apologise to any impacted customers, as we know how important connectivity is."
