A diesel spill closed Wellington's Aotea Quay after a truck crashed near a motorway on-ramp.
Wellington City Council warned ferry access and egress may be affected on Tuesday.
Police were notified of a single-vehicle crash involving a fuel truck about 2.45am. The on-ramp heading north was blocked, but has since reopened.

Police said it will remain closed throughout the morning, and Wellington City Council warn that ferry access and egress would also be impacted.
Fire and Emergency NZ said an estimated 4000 litres of fuel had been spilt in the incident.

FENZ said the clean up could take a few days to clear.
Senior station officer James Gray said some of the fuel had gone into the harbour and the stormwater drains, and contractors would be on site over the next few days, clearing the road.
FENZ were also advising the public there may be diesel fumes for the rest of the day from Thorndon Quay to the ferry terminal.
