SkyCity Entertainment Group is preparing to open its casinos, restaurants and other venues on Thursday as it tries to make up for some of the huge losses caused by Covid-19.
The casino operator announced yesterday plans to cut 700 jobs as a result of the crisis as it looks to save $50 million dollars a year.

Chief executive Graeme Stephens said he was excited to welcome people back to the company's venues in Auckland, Hamilton and Queenstown from Thursday afternoon.
The casinos will open to members only and contact tracing and physical distancing protocols have been introduced, including increasing the space between gaming machines.
SkyCity's hotels, restaurants and the Sky Tower will all re-open, with additional safety measures in place.
