New Zealand Post says it welcomes the guilty plea of a postie who has admitted stealing thousands of pieces of mail that had been posted to addresses in Queenstown.
In the Queenstown District Court on Monday Philippa Lynette Lindsay, 32, pleaded guilty to the charge of theft by a person in a special relationship.
She was arrested in November after the police found between 3000 and 5000 stolen items of mail at her residence.
Another 10,000 letters, parcels and postcards were in a storage unit in Arrowtown.
Lindsay will be sentenced on 8 April.
