Official figures show a record number of people coming to New Zealand as tourists or short-term guests.
Statistics New Zealand says 251,100 people visited the country in November - the highest number ever for the month and an 8% rise on November last year.
Higher totals from Australia, China and the United States helped boost the numbers.
Long-term immigration was also up. New Zealand gained a net 19,500 immigrants in the 12 months to November after gaining 2800 in that month - a big turnaround from a net loss of people a year ago.
New Zealand lost 1000 people who migrated to Australia in November, taking the annual loss to 22,100, but that was well down on the 38,800 people who moved across the Tasman a year ago.
