People are being advised to drive to the conditions following surface flooding in parts of Christchurch.
Christchurch Transport Operations Centre Senior Traveller Information Adviser Tresca Forrester said Warrington Street, Forfar Street and some local roads within the Flockton Basin had surface flooding.
There could be traffic delays and people need to take care when driving through flooded roads as they can create bow waves into neighbouring properties, she said.
A MetService spokesperson said Christchurch Airport had recorded 12mm of rain today but weather conditions were expected to ease this evening.
