The popular crowdfunding website, Givealittle, is about to start charging fundraisers a flat fee of five per cent of the total funds they raise.

In February, more than 39,000 people helped buy a beachfront property in the Abel Tasman National Park for more than $2.3 million.
The charity said anyone who set up a page from 1 September would be charged a flat 5 percent fee, inclusive of GST, on the amount they raised.
That would cover keeping the site running, processing payments securely, and improving customer experience, it said.
The charity, which is supported by the Spark Foundation, said there was no intention to make profit from the fees, which wouldn't meet all of its costs.
In the past three years, the amount individuals, charities and communities have raised via Givealittle has grown from $500,000 a year to $22m.
