The man found dead on a boat in Nelson on Thursday morning has been named by police.

He was John Murray Morton.
Police said the 55-year-old lived on one of the boats in Nelson's harbour.
An investigation was launched after it appeared Mr Morton died of a serious assault.
The body has been taken to Christchurch for a post-mortem police have been talking to Mr Morton's associates to build a picture of his movements in the past week.
