A 19-year-old swimmer's body has been recovered from the Kawarau River in Otago.

Police earlier said the man drowned in Lake Dunstan, near Cromwell, but now say that was incorrect.
Another swimmer who also got into difficulty in the river made it safely to shore.
Police said Cairnmuir Road, the area where the man drowned, was popular for swimming.
