Police dive squads are searching the Whanganui River for the weapons used to kill a 53-year-old local man.

The police launched a homicide enquiry after the body of James Butler was found at a Wikitoria Road property on Sunday evening.
A second man had serious injuries and was taken to Whanganui Hospital.
Forensic examinations at the property are expected to continue until tomorrow.
