A man has been charged with murder after an argument between two people in the upper North Island.

Police are investigating the death of a 35-year-old man at Snells Beach near Warkworth overnight.
They were called shortly after 11.30pm and say the pair were known to each other.
A 33-year-old man will appear in the North Shore District Court today.
A scene examination is ongoing and there will be a strong police presence.
