State Highway 1 south of Kaikōura will be closed at night from Sunday to Thursday next week.

The Transport Agency says drivers will be detoured while work takes place to mill and seal two sections of road near the Okaraia Stream.
The road will be closed from 9pm to 7am and drivers are being asked to allow for a slightly longer journey.
During the day the road will be open to two-way traffic.
