Mt Victoria Tunnel in Wellington has reopened after it was closed in both directions this morning when it was blocked by a single vehicle crash.
One person has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Police said the crash happened shortly after 6am, blocking the tunnel.
Road traffic through the tunnel was closed for almost three hours by the crash, causing traffic delays across the central city.
The road reopened a short time ago.

The tunnel footpath was also closed to pedestrians and cyclists, but has also now reopened.
