The pilot who died in a microlight plane crash in rural South Canterbury yesterday was 60-year-old Trevor Shadbolt of Pukaki.

The plane was reported overdue late yesterday afternoon and wreckage was found east of Twizel, near the south-eastern end of the Pukaki spillway.
There were no other passengers on board.
The Civil Aviation Authority is investigating.
