Fire crews are battling a large fire on State Highway 3 and 1 in the Manawatū town of Sanson.

Police were notified of a building fire at 5.15pm and emergency services are attending the scene on Dundas Road.
The Transport Agency says a section of the highway has been closed through the town.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area or follow diversions.
Police say they expect the road to be closed for some time.
