The country's pie king can now add sausage roll champ to his CV.

Patrick Lam in Bethlehem, Tauranga - seven-time winner of the Bakels Supreme Pie Awards - has won the inaugural Bakels Legendary Sausage Roll competition.
His entry took the top prize, all judged anonymously by independent industry judges, from 606 entries around the country.
Silver went to Marijke Isley of The School Shop in Takaka, and bronze to Michael Meaclem of Michael's Bakery in Hillmorton, Christchurch.
The competition was filled with the classics - beef, pork or lamb - none of this newfangled gourmet business.
The ultimate winner takes home $1500 and a trophy.
