A scrub fire at a Wellington park that caused smoke to drift across surrounding suburbs this morning has been extinguished.

Fire and Emergency was alerted to the blaze at the Prince of Wales Park in the suburb of Mount Cook shortly before 3pm.
A spokesperson said two fire crews attended.
It was not yet known what caused the fire, they said.
