A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent after an assault in Auckland last night.
The police were called to the Eric Armishaw Reserve in Pt Chevalier at about 8pm after reports of a group of people fighting.
One person had a wound to the face and was taken to hospital in a moderate condition, police said.
Police were investigating the circumstances of the brawl.
A St John spokesperson said the police contacted them for assistance last night at 8.10pm.
They sent one ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.
They said one person was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a critical condition. RNZ has contacted to hospital to check the patient's status.
