Three people, including a police officer, have been injured after a crash between two cars in West Auckland's Massey.
The crash was reported to police at 10.44am on Thursday on Red Hills Rd, when a member of the public's car collided with a police car, a police spokesperson said.
"The police car was travelling at road speed when the crash happened".
A police officer and a social worker had been inside the police car and were left with moderate injuries. A person in the other car was also moderately injured.
All three people were taken to North Shore Hospital.
A section of Red Hills Rd had been closed and motorists were told to expect delays or avoid the area.
The police spokesperson said police would notify the Independent Police Conduct Authority of the crash.
