A person has been seriously injured after a crash on State Highway 2 in Waikino in the Karangahake Gorge.
Emergency services were called to the single vehicle crash near the Victoria Battery Reserve about 5pm.
Police said the driver of the vehicle had serious injuries.
The road was closed for some time, but reopened late on Saturday night.
