The woman who died after suffering an injury on Boxing Day in Feilding was Cavillie Maria Simeon, police have confirmed.
The 58-year-old was taken by ambulance to Palmerston North Hospital on Friday, after she became critically ill following an injury the night before, police said.
She was then transferred to Wellington hospital, where she died on Sunday.
Police were continuing to investigate.
