Six people are in hospital after a house fire in Whangamatā.
Twelve Fire and Emergency crews were called to the Tairua Road address around 4.45am on Wednesday.
A St John spokesperson said one ambulance was sent and six people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Part of State Highway 25 was closed for seven hours after the fire.
Tairua Road was blocked between Brenton Place and the Smartway sewage ponds near Gregory Lane, but had since reopened in both directions.
