Golden Globes 2025: Shōgun and Emilia Pérez lead awards

The 82nd annual Golden Globes Awards has kicked off with Hollywood stars arriving on red carpet in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

Spanish-language musical thriller Emilia Perez and The Brutalist, a three-and-a-half-hour post-World War II drama, lead the movies vying for Globe trophies.

Others include box office smash Wicked, adapted from the Broadway play about the witches in The Wizard of Oz, and papal selection story Conclave.

Restaurant tale The Bear and mystery comedy Only Murders in the Building will compete for TV honours.

Stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser will host the event, making history as the first woman to host the show solo. Dwayne Johnson, Elton John, Andrew Garfield and Awkwafina will be among the award presenters.

Globe honourees are chosen by 334 entertainment journalists from 85 countries.
