Police respond to brawl at Auckland's Newmarket Station

An area of Auckland's Newmarket Station has been cordoned off by police as emergency services respond to what witnesses said was a fight between two males.

Police said a fight took place between two men just after 4.30pm, and during the fight, one of the men suffered a fall.

He has been taken to Auckland City Hospital in moderate condition.

One shopkeeper said she saw someone taken away on a stretcher.

An RNZ reporter at the scene said there appeared to be blood on the ground near a bench.

Police said the offender left the scene and they are working to locate him.
