Police say one person has died following a crash between two vehicles in Hurunui, Canterbury.
The crash was reported on Mouse Point Road, near Hanmer Springs Road, shortly before 4.30pm.
The person died at the scene and no other injuries were reported, police said.
The road remained closed on Monday evening, while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination.
