Forty-four properties are without power after a vehicle struck a power pole near Manawaru, east of Hamilton, this morning.
Fire and Emergency services were called to Alexander Road just after 5am.
No-one was trapped in the vehicle and a St John's Ambulance spokesperson said there were no injuries in the crash.
Electricity supplier Powerco estimate power should be restored to homes in the area by 1pm on Saturday.
