Police have launched an investigation into the death of a person found after a car fire in Puketaha, Waikato overnight.
Emergency services were called to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Marshmeadow and Holland roads about 3.50am Wednesday.
A police spokesperson said a person was found deceased in the vehicle by firefighters.
The death is being treated as unexplained, they said.
Cordons are in place and police said a scene examination was being carried out.
