A homicide investigation has been launched after a stabbing in the small Waikato community of Rotongaro, west of Huntly, on Friday night, police say.
Detective inspector Daryl Smith said reports were received about a stabbing on Hetherington Road, after a roadside altercation, about 10:40pm.
A man died at the scene.
Smith said a 25-year-old man was taken into custody, and police were not looking for anyone else.
