Dozen crews needed to quell garage fire

Firefighters worked through the night to put out a large fire at a garage in the Bay of Plenty community of Minden.

Nearly a dozen crews were sent to the blaze, which was first reported about 7pm Sunday.

Fire and Emergency said they finally got it out about 2am.

Investigators will return at first light to begin working out the cause.

Minden is just west of Tauranga.
