The police have laid murder charges in all three separate homicide investigations launched in the North Island yesterday.
In the latest, a 53-year-old man will appear in the District Court in Whangarei tomorrow after a man died at a house in Norfolk Street in Whangarei last night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Michelle Harris said officers had arrested a 53-year-old man at the address, who was known to the victim.
In Northland, a 44-year-old man will appear in the Kaikohe courts after a man with stab wounds died at a home on Mangakahia Road, south of the town.
The man died at the scene despite receiving medical treatment.
Detective Inspector Al Symonds said police would like to speak with anyone with information who has not yet spoken to them.
And in Hamilton, a man faces murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm charges after another man died at a property on Beatty Street in Melville.
A second man was injured and was rushed to hospital where he remained in a critical condition.
Police at the time said they were looking for a third man who had been at the scene where the other men were found.
Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Neilson said on Sunday morning, the 41-year-old man who police were seeking had been arrested.
