A man accused of a home invasion in the Wellington suburb of Miramar appeared in Wellington District Court on Thursday.
Police were called to a home in Darlington Road in the early hours of Monday last week after a resident discovered the man in their home.
One person was injured in a struggle that took place in the home.
The 29-year-old man is facing charges of committing a burglary with a weapon.
Lawyers for the man entered no plea and the man was remanded in custody until next month.
His identity has been suppressed.
