A pizza thief in Auckland, who threatened a woman with a knife, has had his getaway plans foiled by police.
At about 9pm last night, a woman was returning to her accommodation with recently purchased pizzas on Mayoral Drive.
A male offender approached the woman and threatened her with a knife, demanding she hand over the pizzas.
The offender then ran away with the pizzas on foot but not before officers were able to track him through police cameras in the central city.
Police later arrested the 28 year old man.
He has been charged with aggravated robbery and will be appearing in the Auckland District Court on 16 May.
