Waikato police want help to identify a motorist, after a person was assaulted on the roadside in Tokoroa.
Police said a man stopped his vehicle to help another motorist at around 4pm on Friday morning, near the intersection of Old Taupō Road and Baird Road.
It's believed the good samaritan was attacked and suffered a head injury.
He is now recovering at home.
Police said the investigation was ongoing and they were still working to find the other party involved.
