One person is injured, after a train crash at a level crossing east of Hamilton.
Police were called to the intersection of Vaile Road and Ruakura Road in Newstead, just before 6pm Wednesday.
They said a car collided with a train and one person was moderately injured.
Fire and Emergency NZ briefly attended, but were not required to rescue the occupants.
The road was closed and police asked motorists to avoid the area.
