A serious two-vehicle crash has forced the closure of Victoria Road in Tauwhare Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the crash, which happened between Ringer Road and Tauwhare Road, about 2.40pm.
Emergency services are at the scene and early reports indicate there are serious injuries.
The road is closed in both directions and is expected to stay shut for some time, while crews work.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
